Bio: From a young age I have always been interested in cars or anything with wheels and an engine, and, at the age of eight my parents made the biggest mistake of their lives as they took me indoor karting, this sparked off my passion and that's where I discovered that racing was my life! After six months of indoor karting and participating in sprint and endurance races, I was told that I should move on to outdoor racing because my lap times were exceptionally quick for one so young and inexperienced and there would be more opportunities for me to get spotted and to hopefully, fulfil my dreams and ambitions.
In my first year of outdoor karting I won various podium place trophies, completed my MSA National Licence and won the Red Lodge Honda Championship. I also won Driver Of The Day on my very first MSA race. During this season I had been spotted by an ex British Champion and asked to become a Works Driver for an Indian Kart Company who wanted to launch their name and karts over in England. I would get free karts and be featured in the karting magazine and in their newsletters.
My second and third years of racing we entered the Formula Six National Championship. Over the two years I got 7th in the Championship in my first year of competing with two 3rd places and numerous fastest laps (many of these as novice). The second year of this Championship I came 3rd in the F6 Challenge and won their Manifest trophy in doing so. I also set fastest laps and got various first and second podium places. Also in this year I won a winter Championship at club level.
My fourth year I decided to move up into the Minimax class at the age of twelve. In this class I won numerous races and also I took part in the London Cup where I showed good pace but as we were a ‘family run team’ of sorts the key point for us was gaining experience.
In my fifth year of racing at the age of thirteen I moved up into Junior Rotax and raced at Rye House. I represented them in the Ace Of Clubs. In my first year at this track I finished in the top ten in the Championship out of over 35.
My sixth year was the year we decided to try and move into cars so was more laid back on the karting front although I managed to win the non MSA and MSA Championship at my local Club. By this time my height and weight was against me as I was still too young to move up to seniors therefore cars were the best way for me to go. I started practicing in cars, I had a practice in a Caterham and I participated in the Ginetta Scholarship. In this hectic but amazing year I also passed 100% with my ARDS test at a soaking wet Brands Hatch track!
My seventh year saw me geared up to race as a Ginetta G40 Junior purchased by my two Sponsors but sadly, due to lack of funding we were unable to make an appearance in the car. I did have a year of testing in the car however. I had a practice in a Saxo for the 750 Motor Club Samper Day and participated in the Formula Ford Sampler Day, where I met the Myerscough Race Team.
This year I am so excited! I’m hoping to race with the Myerscough Race Team in an amazing car in the Formula Ford 1600 Kent Engine Class. It will be wonderful for the first time in my racing career to be part of a ‘professional team’ as opposed to Dad being my mechanic…(sorry Dad ha ha) I am starting some serious training so I’m ready for the year ahead!
At this point I am currently in possession of 73 trophies from 3rd- 1st including driver of the days, challenge trophies and championship trophies, from the experience gained through racing at almost ALL the kart tracks in England I hope I can take some of the raw racing knowledge through to my career in cars!
